What Cover do I have?

The WIBA Takaful provides Indemnity to an Employer against Legal Liability under the Workmen Injury Benefits Act (2007) in respect of assessments and awards for bodily injury to a workman due to accident or occupational disease arising out of and in the course of the employment by the employer in respect of the employer’s business. The benefits provided under the Act are:

Death – 96 months earnings
Permanent Total Disability – 96 months earnings
Temporary total Disability – Actual Weekly wages
Medical Expenses – Ksh.100,000 per person
Funeral Expenses – Ksh. 30,000 per person
Your policy cover will normally run for 12 months and is renewable annually.

How much must I pay if I have a claim?

You will pay the first Ksh.5,000 of each claim except for funeral expenses claims

How do I make a claim?

You should report to us immediately. We will ask you for the following:

Duly completed claim form
Police abstract report for cases relating to road traffic accident or assault.
Original Medical bills and official receipts for payment
Original sick off slips
Medical reports
DOSH form 1 (Obtained from Ministry of labour)
DOSH WIBA 4 form (Obtained from Ministry of labour)
Preceding months certified copy of pay slips/salary vouchers OR the preceding week’s earnings if the worker had been engaged as a casual
Contract of service
Discharge summary if ever admitted
Certified copy of death certificate for fatal injury
Certified copy of burial permit.
Post mortem report.

Can I cancel the policy ?

You should report to us immediately. We will ask you for the following documents:

You may cancel the policy at any time by telling us in writing. We may cancel the policy by giving you seven days’ written notice to your last known address. We will charge you on a pro rata basis for the time we have been on cover plus an administration fee of Ksh.1,000 and pay any refund due to you. There will be no refund if we have paid a claim or one is outstanding at the time you cancel your policy.
